This week, the Phillies reassigned a number of players to minor league camp, including top prospects J.P. Crawford, Nick Williams, Roman Quinn, Jorge Alfaro and Andrew Knapp. Today, they sent two more guys to the minors, with Brock Stassi being reassigned to minor league camp and Taylor Featherston getting optioned to Triple-A.

Stassi, 26, was selected by the Phillies in the 33rd round of the 2011 draft. The first baseman had a very strong showing during the 2015 season with Double-A Reading, hitting .300 with 32 doubles, 12 triples, 15 home runs, 76 runs scored and 90 RBI's. His performance earned him the Eastern League MVP award, the seventh Reading player to do so, joining Darin Ruf (2012), Ryan Howard (2004), Marlon Byrd (2001), Jeff Stone (1983), Mark Davis(1980), and Greg Luzinski (1970). Stassi appeared in 13 games this spring and hit .240 (6-for-25) with a double, two runs scored and two RBI's. He's set to be the starting first baseman in Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
The Phillies acquired Taylor Featherston from the Angels for cash and a player to be named later. He can play all around the infield, making for some nice depth in the minor leagues, but struggled at the plate in 12 games this spring, hitting just .100 (2-for-20) with a homer, three RBI's and two runs scored. He impressed in the Arizona Fall League with a .294 (20-for-79) average to go along with two doubles, three triples, a home run and 10 RBI's.
