The Eagles had Wendell Smallwood claimed off waivers by the Redskins, but he isn’t the only Eagles player cut who was claimed by another team.

According to Adam Schefter, the Arizona Cardinals have claimed former Army offensive tackle Brett Toth.

The Eagles signed Toth just a few weeks ago after he received permission from Army officials to sign the deal.

His chances of making the 53-man roster were very slim, especially with the undrafted rookies that they had had with them since the start of training camp.

The Cardinals can afford to keep Toth on their 53-man roster, but the Eagles cannot.

While the Eagles were hoping to pass Toth through to their practice squad, the Cardinals decided to make him a developmental project much like Jordan Mailata was on the Eagles roster in 2018.
