The Philadelphia Eagles had their first day of mandatory mini-camp on Tuesday and Carson Wentz was the center of attention once again, for his recovery from an ACL tear suffered on December 10 against the Los Angeles Rams.
The important thing in Wentz's recovery is his ability to regain strength and mobility in his knee which was apparent during practice at the NovaCare Complex.

Just six months removed from the initial injury and then surgery, Wentz has progressed further than most people would expect a player to recover from this type of football injury. Carson Wentz is a fighter and is proving it once again from the spring into the summer.
NJ.com's Elliot Shorr-Parks monitored the third-year quarterback during drills on Tuesday, taking a deeper look at his reps and the way he looked while running around in a pocket situation.
"Overall, Wentz was 4/6 with an interception and a touchdown, but didn't take enough reps to really get in a rhythm. His nice touchdown pass to Agholor made up for his bad interception right to McLeod, but outside of that he didn't take many chances with the ball.
Still, at this point in his rehab what is important is that Wentz still isn't showing any signs of injury when he is out on the field, an encouraging sign for his recovery from a torn ACL."

After everything that can be observed from Tuesday's practice, Carson Wentz seems to be progressing smoothly towards a very possible Week 1 return. Obviously, lots of work and practice needs to be done before that becomes a reality, but Wentz seems to be in a really good situation at this time.
Eagles head coach Doug Pederson hasn't lost sight on who this team belongs to at the end of the day, as he told NBC Sports Philadelphia's John Clark.
“I think inside he's very hungry. As a leader of the team, sort of the face of the franchise, he was drafted to be our guy long-term. I still believe this is Carson's team. He’s chomping, ready to get back out there.”
There's still a long summer ahead of Carson Wentz, but as of June 12, he looks more than ready to continue his journey to get cleared to participate in football activities, raring to go for the start of training camp.
