After signing corner Craig James to the 53-man roster from the practice squad Wednesday night, the Eagles had an open spot to fill on the squad.

The team decided to bring in another corner as they announced Ajene Harris would fill the tenth and final spot on the practice squad.

If you’ve been following the Eagles moves this summer, you may recognize the name.

Harris was originally brought into Eagles camp on August 6th. He remained with the team until roster cutdowns on the 30th of the same month.

Over his final three seasons at USC, Harris appeared in 38 games, making 143 tackles, a sack, six interceptions, 16 defensed passes, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. He was named USC’s Most Inspirational Player during his senior year.

Perhaps more important to the team is that he played both safety and corner at USC. That means he could join players like Malcolm Jenkins and Avonte Maddox, who’s versatility the team loves to have.

Harris will bring a positive personality to the locker room, as well.

The signing would seem to indicate that the Eagles did/do not have a plan to sign back veteran Orlando Scandrick or Josh Hawkins, who the team entrusted to play for them in the playoff last season.
