PHILADELPHIA – Clearwater Threshers third baseman Mitch Walding has been named the Offensive Player of the Week of the Florida State League for games played from April 7-17, according to MiLB.com.

Walding, 23, is the third prospect within the Philadelphia Phillies' minor league system – joining catcher Jorge Alfaro of the Eastern League and right-hander Zach Eflin of the International League –  to be named Player of the Week of their respective leagues.

The Lodi, California, native is hitting .268/.354/.683 this season with two doubles, five home runs and 11 runs-batted-in. Walding reached base safely in each of his 10 games he played during the award's 11-day stretch, riding a seven-game winning streak in which he batted .417.

Walding was drafted by the Phillies in the fifth round of the 2011 amateur draft.

The Threshers are the High-A affiliate of the Phillies.
