Playing in a rehab game for the first time since being sidelined with a hamstring injury, Phillies third baseman Cody Asche had himself a night in Lakewood, NJ. Asche went 2-for-3 on the night with those two home runs in the Blueclaws loss to the Texas Rangers Class 'A' affiliate, the Hickory Crawdads.

Slated to play a week of rehab games before rejoining the Phils, Asche will play with Lakewood today and Sunday and if all goes well, he will head to Lehigh Valley on Monday. Since Asche last played on May 22, Phillies’ third basemen are hitting just .178 with one homer and 25 strikeouts.

Cody had seemed to be getting into a nice offensive groove before getting hurt, hitting .416 with a homer, two doubles and six RBI's in the six games prior to his injury. He also was batting .316 with three homers in 16 starts in May before his hamstring started to give him issues.
