Cody Parkey Added to Pro Bowl Roster, Maclin Backs Out

We learned last week that LeSean McCoy was not going to participate in this year's Pro Bowl due to an undisclosed injury. Alfred Morris was selected in his place. A few days after that news, Jeremy Maclin and Jon Dorenbos were added to the all-star roster.

Yesterday, Alex Marvez of Foxsports.com reported that Maclin was backing out of the Pro Bowl due to personal reasons. Golden Tate of the Lions is slated to take Maclin's place. Maclin was originally a third team alternate for this year's Pro Bowl and was added after the Broncos' Demaryius Thomas backed out due an injury.

Another Eagle has been added to the Pro Bowl mix. Rookie kicker, Cody Parkey was added to the roster today along with Adam Vinatieri. If you remember, Parkey was traded to the Eagles from the Colts, who opted to keep the veteran over the rookie. Not a tough decision really. Parkey performed well for the Eagles in his first season, setting a rookie record with 150 points, the most since 1985.  Parkey missed just four of his 36 attempts this season, two of which came against the Redskins in the Eagles' second to last game.

Parkey joins Evan Mathis, Jason Kelce, Connor Barwin and Darren Sproles as the Eagles representatives at the Pro Bowl. Jason Peters is no longer participating and is being replaced by the Texans' Duane Brown.

Special teamer, Chris Maragos and defensive end, Fletcher Cox, are still available as alternates for the game slated to take place January 25th at 8pm in Glendale, AZ on ESPN.
