According
to Darren Rovell of ESPN, Cole
Hamels has signed on to become a cover athlete on popular chewing gum Big
League Chew (you know, the stuff you haven't had since you were 12). Matt Kemp of the LA Dodgers has also been selected. The brand
has had cartoon characters has the face of their product since they were first
introduced in 1980 (Yay!).
This
will certainly bring a boom of business that has already been doing well since
its first contract with Wrigley. Hamels and Kemp are certainly two of the top
players in the league right now, and their images will certainly reel in the
buyers.
No
comments have been made by either player, nor has Hamels' label been released.
However, the product is set to hit shelves in June.
