According to Troy Renck of the Denver Post, the Colorado Rockies have offered former Phillie Jamie Moyer a minor league contract with invitation to Spring Training:
Moyer would be brought in to compete for a rotation spot and help tutor the young pitchers on staff. He is known for possessing one of baseball's best changeups.
Moyer is 49 years old and recovering from Tommy John surgery. Lifetime, Moyer is 267–204 with a 4.25 ERA.
Renck says the team is "finishing up" the deal, which seems to indicate it will get done.
