Correia set to oppose Jimenez, Orioles for home debut in red pinstripes

Coming off of a winless, eight-game road trip, the first of its kind in franchise-history since their inaugural season in 1883, the Philadelphia Phillies (22-44) will seek to rebound tonight as they start the second-half of the home-and-home series with the Baltimore Orioles.

Having lost eight consecutive games, the Phillies have not won since two Sundays ago, when they faced Ryan Vogelsong and the San Francisco Giants.

Starting Pitching Matchup:

Baltimore Orioles (33-31) Philadelphia Phillies (22-44)
RHP Ubaldo Jimenez RHP Kevin Correia
(4-3, 3.19 ERA) (0-0, 0.00 ERA)

Correia, 34, will be making his second start as a Phillie, and his first at Citizens Bank Park while donning the red pinstripes.

In the right hander's season debut last Friday, June 12, at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, he threw 5.2 scoreless innings, allowing just five hits and one walk while striking out four batters. This was his first scoreless starting appearance with at least five innings pitched since June 10 of last season.

Over three June starts against the Astros, Indians and Yankees, the 31-year-old Jimenez is (1-0) with a 3.38 ERA in 16.0 innings of work.

Throughout Jimenez's ten-year career, the month of June has been his best month on the mound, statistically-speaking:
