Robert Covington returned to the lineup last night after sitting out nine days with a sprained right knee. On Tuesday at practice, the small forward re-injured the same knee.
Brett Brown gave as much of an update as he could on his sharp-shooter. He left it saying his status for tomorrow is uncertain, according to Dave Zeitlin of CSN Philly.
“Covington went down today and we’re not sure what’s going to be his status,” Brown said. “We’ll determine that tomorrow.”
The Sixers will be in Milwaukee tomorrow to face the Bucks. In their home loss to the Cavaliers last night, Covington scored only 4 points in 22 minutes of action.
Despite the poor production, Brown said he thought Covington played well.
“I was surprised to look at 1-9 [FG],” said Brown. “I felt like he played well. I felt that we were better with him in the game. He was clearly rusty, but I thought defensively he was solid.”
After the game in Milwaukee, the Sixers have a few days of rest. They next play the Orlando Magic back home. With the two days of rest between games, it would not be too surprising to see the Sixers give Covington a third day and rest him tomorrow.
