Last week, Eagles fans got some bad news – cornerback Cre’Von LeBlanc was in a walking boot and not practicing.

Shortly thereafter he was labeled “week-to-week” in Doug Pederson speak and Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that LeBlanc was expected to be ready for the start of the season.

Derrick Gunn of NBC Sports Philly is now reporting something very different.

Gunn reports that LeBlanc suffered a Lisfranc sprain. As he points out in his article, it is the same injury Jalen Mills suffered last season that forced him onto IR, just to a lesser extent.

Mid-September is now the optimistic goal for LeBlanc but he could be out until November.

The news certainly adds some insight into the Orlando Scandrick signing earlier this week.

It seems more and more likely that the team will rely heavily on the trio of Rasul Douglas, Sidney Jones and Avonte Maddox. Ronald Darby and Jalen Mills still have yet to practice.

LeBlanc signed with the Eagles in November last season and appeared in 10 games, including the playoffs, with the team. He also recorded an interception in the playoff game against the Saints that seemed to swing the momentum in the Eagles direction until the Brandon Brooks injury took place.
