The Eagles had two players claimed on waivers when the Cardinals claimed offensive tackle Brett Toth and the Redskins claimed running back Wendell Smallwood. Those two aren’t the only two former Eagles heading to a new team, however.
According to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News reports that Eagles fifth-round pick Clayton Thorson will be signing with the Dallas Cowboys practice squad.
For quarterback, Cowboys elected to add external option to practice squad. They are signing former Eagles QB Clayton Thorson, sources said. Rookie fifth-round pick from Northwestern.

Thorson was left without a job in Philadelphia after the Eagles made him a final roster cut and then signed quarterback Kyle Lauletta to the practice squad.
The 2019 pick was uninspiring in two of his three preseason performances and completed 28 of 53 passes for just 259 yards.
He also threw just one touchdown pass compared to two interceptions and two fumbles.
Based on those performances, the Cowboys likely only signed him as a scout who could provide information on the Eagles’ playbook.
