Welcome to a new weekly series here on Sports Talk Philly. As you are aware, the naming theme here is the name of the team combined with the name of the city of Philadelphia. Well, this article is focusing on the 76ers and 87ers. With that said, in keeping with the theme, I combined the two cities: Delaware and Philadelphia, to create a series that focuses on the past week for both teams. If you missed out on what went down, or want to relive it, this is the spot.

It's a growing series where I'm still making tweaks and such to improve it. Let me know how you feel about it. What do you want to see? What should I stop? Change?

Anyway, let's get going:

Sixerdelphia General News:

The Delaware 87ers took part in the D-League draft and took in several players.

Is it Noel's farewell? I like rhyming but, besides that, he and the Sixers didn't agree to a contract extension so now he's set to be a restricted free agent. It seems like a trade is out of the question now because, unless a team is desperate, they probably won't trade for him just to lose him to an offer they can't or won't match. Will the Sixers match or let him walk? Technically, Sixers can still hold onto him and then he's an unrestricted free agent for the 2018 offseason; but that's if the Sixers want him. That's a post for another day to get into the details. According to a report, though, the Raptors and Sixers are discussing a deal for Noel as of Saturday morning.

The Sixers made a trade. They sent Jerami Grant to the Thunder for Ersan Ilysova and a protected first round pick. I ain't mad at it at all.

Dario Saric sang a song. I uh…if you haven't heard it already, go ahead. Let me know what you think because I've heard better. A lot better. But, whatever.

One of the greatest centers to play the game, Patrick Ewing, said that our Process child Joel Embiid might be the most talented Center in the game. Yay.

News From Around the Web:

Sevens' new coach, Eugene Burroughs, is excited for his opportunity to coach the team. Check out some of his quotes. I like this one: “For me, it’s about intensity. I think at this level we have to defend. There are a lot of good players in the D-League, so for us it’s more about can we defend at a high level every day? Not just day one in training camp, but day 40 when we’re playing games."

Let's catch up with the Colangelo's. First, Bryan says there is no way the Sixers are tanking this year. Uh, pretty sure that was the plan all along. Also, I get nervous about how far he'll go to ensure a few extra wins this year. What kind of moves will he make and at what cost?

His dad stepped down from the Chairman positon for Team USA. He's still this special advisor for the Sixers who didn't agree with The Process and got his son hired so I guess that's cool.

Ben Simmons was the focus example with the "One and Done" NBA rule. Check out how he feels about it.

Recap of Games:

Just a summary of how well the teams did this past week in their games. Sevens didn't play anything as their season hasn't started yet.

Sixers continue to lose and by lose, I mean, LOSE, as they have this epic losing streak in the months of October and November going back to 2013. You have to think it ends this season though. Embiid may have had a rough time as the go-to guy to close out games, but at least we have an option. Yay. I'm happy he's getting that type of experience now. He's one of those few guys who can win the game on both sides of the ball on a final possession.

Prediction for Next Week:

Alright, so this is fairly bold, but I'm going to say the Sixers get their first win this season and it'll be against the Utah Jazz. I know; just let me have this.
