Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer both tallied double-doubles as the Sixers were again never able to get into an offensive groove, shooting just over 35% from the field. The ended up falling to the Bulls 103-78. Now losers of six of their last seven, the Sixers have a day off before heading to Washington to face the Wizards.
After keeping pace with Chicago for the first part of quarter one, the Bulls took the lead with just under four minutes to play and never looked back. Philadelphia's long-range shooting continued to haunt them, going 2-for-19 from three-point land the night after going 2-for-20. Michael Carter-Williams struggled for the second straight game, scoring just 10 points on 22 shots. Thaddeus Young led all Sixers scorers with 12, while James Anderson pitched in with 11. The Sixers were outscored tonight on fastbreak points, 25-12 as well. The rare bright note for Philadelphia was 10-day contract big-man Dewayne Dedmon, who scored eight points (4-5 FG) and grabbed seven boards in 17 minutes.
The Sixers were never able to contain Chicago's big men as Joakim Noah scored 21 points and grabbed 16 rebounds while Boozer scored 15 and rebounded 13. Chicago outrebounded the Sixers 52-42. DJ Augustin came off the bench for the Bulls to score 19 points on 7-for-10 shooting while also dishing out eight assists.
Looking ahead at the schedule for the Sixers (19-20), they travel to DC for a matinee 2PM matchup against John Wall and the Wizards (19-20), who fell to the Pistons tonight, 104-98. The two teams split their first two meetings this season.
Philadelphia then heads to Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night for a matchup against the Knicks before hosting the Raptors at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday night.
Injury note: Sixers guard Tony Wroten left tonight's game in the 2nd with an ankle injury. Lavoy Allen returned after a four-game absence because of a right calf injury. He played 15 minutes and scored six points. UPDATE: Along with Wroten, James Andersen was kneed in the back and Brandon Davies dislocated his right pinky. All are listed as day-to-day.
