Tough news for the Flyers today. Flyers GM Paul Holmgren announced that Flyers top-goal scorer Matt Read will be out six weeks. This news comes via CSNPhilly.com's Tim Panaccio:
Read suffered torn rib cage muscle and will miss 6 weeks, GM Paul Holmgren said. Worse than a concussion in terms of length of time.

Read left last night's game in Pittsburgh after taking a puck to the chest. Panaccio was referring to speculation that Read was suffering from a concussion after an injury update took a while.
This is a tough blow for the Flyers, who have leaned heavily on Read this season. In the team's first 17 games, Read leads the way with seven goals. Read also had six assists for 13 total points, fourth on the team.
