The Phillies' best hitter is now shelved for two games against perhaps baseball's best team, the St. Louis Cardinals.
Not playing tonight or tomorrow . Sucks!!!
— Domonic Brown (@dom9brown) July 24, 2013
Brown appeared to injure himself yesterday when he dove for a ball down the left field line. The ball ended up being a Carlos Beltran triple. Brown reported dizziness after the game, at which point the Phillies began following concussion-monitoring procedures. Once the process begins, a player may not play for two days. Brown reports that he is feeling better but must wait out the two day period.
The good news is that Michael Martinez has joined the roster to help soften the blow.
