Eagles Acquire Veteran Defensive End From Bills
By Paul Bowman, Sports Talk Philly Editor
It had been a while since Eagles GM Howie Roseman made a trade, so Friday he made another move.
Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports that the team has acquired defensive end Eli Harold from the Buffalo Bills.
Harold is a former third-round pick in 2015. He has played in 61 career games (25 starts) and has nine career sacks.

Acquiring Eli is a bit of an odd move considering how high the organization is on Josh Sweat and the showing the both Daeshon Hall and Shareef Miller had in the first preseason game.
Harold has spent time with San Francisco and Detriot, recording 94 tackles and nine sacks in 61 games. Having started only 25 games, Harold figures to compete with the three young defensive ends for a rotational spot on the roster.
Bates, an undrafted free agent out of Penn State, could be a good offensive lineman in the future, but he was not going to make the Eagles roster this season and the team already has enough spaces dedicated to projects.
Bates will have a stronger chance of sticking with Buffalo, even if it is just with the practice squad.
