While there was much fanfare about the release of Jordan Matthews over players like Mack Hollins, there is little doubt why the spot on the roster needed to be opened up at this point in time.
On Tuesday, the Eagles announced that they had officially activated the 21-day window for injured corner Cre’Von LeBlanc to practice with the team.

LeBlanc will now be allowed to practice with the team. The Eagles have 21 days to decide whether they will return him to the 53-man roster or shut him down for the season.
The Eagles are allowed to return two players from IR, so with LeBlanc coming back, the team will likely look to make the playoffs and return DeSean Jackson for a run.
LeBlanc joined the team off waivers in 2018 and his growth solidified a secondary that was made up of mid-season pick-ups.
It was his play that turned the momentum toward the Eagles early on in the divisional round of the playoffs last year.
Jim Schwartz said today that when LeBlanc returns, he will have a role to play on the defense.
If that’s the case, the Eagles may choose to move Avonte Maddox back into a safety role to keep him on the field and give them a fourth option at the position.
The team also has a spot vacant on their practice squad.
