Eagles Activate Wallace, Promote Hawkins
By Paul Bowman, Sports Talk Philly Editor
The Eagles will be getting some reinforcements on both sides of the ball. They will both be coming from in-house.

The Eagles decided to use their ability to have a second player return from IR on Mike Wallace. Richard Rodgers was the first Eagle to return.
Wallace was signed to a one-year “prove-it” deal this offseason. He was supposed to be the Eagles number two receiver, but was held without a catch in the first game of the season. In the second game, against the Buccaneers, he only managed to play into the second drive. Wallace made what appeared to be his first catch as an Eagle, but the play was called back on a holding penalty. Wallace injured his ankle on that same play.
Wallace returns as a deep threat for the Eagles. It should open up the short field a bit more, but should also work well with Foles’ tendency to take down-field shots. The hope is that Wallace is able to make more plays like that 83-yard touchdown reception that Nelson Agholor had against the Texans.
Should the Eagles reach the playoffs, Wallace will look to be the type of receiver that Torrey Smith was last season. Smith had a similarly disappointing regular season last year.
The receiver is certainly glad to be back and excited to contribute.
Let’s get to it!

Josh Hawkins provided improved corner depth for the Eagles. He signed with the practice squad nearly two weeks ago and has learned the coverages. More about him here.
To make room, DeVante Bausby and Chandon Sullivan were waived. While neither performed at a really high level, both are young undrafted free agents. The Eagles may look to add them back to the practice squad should they clear waivers.
The practice squad is at nine players, so if the Eagles were to re-sign both young corners, it would mean another player is release. Most likely the recently added Kaleb Johnson.
