Even when the NFL Draft came to a close with the final pick at 253rd overall on Saturday evening, the work was not done for teams. There were several undrafted free agents available for the taking.
The Eagles have added four players as undrafted free agents: running back Corey Clement, quarterback/wide receiver Greg Ward Jr., center Tyler Orlosky and punter Cam Johnston.
Clement was on the radar as a possible target for the Eagles through the final rounds of Day 3. When Clement lasted beyond the draft, the Eagles were able to get him anyway, despite not having a seventh round pick after trades made on Saturday.
Clement had 314 carries for 1,375 yards and 15 touchdowns in his senior season at Wisconsin in 13 games. He also had 12 catches for 132 yards last season. In his career at Wisconsin, Clement had 3,092 yards rushing and 36 touchdowns.
Ward was a quarterback at Houston, but also had good ground numbers and was utilized as a receiver at times as well. He had 8,705 passing yards and 53 passing touchdowns as a quarterback, but also had 1,108 rushing yards and 21 rushing touchdowns in 2015 and in 2016 had 518 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.
There was rumors floating around that the Eagles had also signed defensive end Bryan Cox Jr. from Florida. But the Florida defensive lineman has signed with the Carolina Panthers, tweeting that reports of a deal with the Eagles were completely false.
