Sticking with someone who knows the system, the Eagles have chosen to sign Chandon Sullivan to the active roster from the practice squad after officially placing Derek Barnett on injured reserve.

Sullivan had an impressive preseason, but was unable to crack the depth of the Eagles cornerback room (Mills, Darby and Jones were locks; he competed with Avonte Maddox and Rasul Douglas). With Sidney Jones missing a second game and getting some rest with an upcoming bye week, the Eagles will have Sullivan active to provide depth. This will become especially important if Corey Graham, who has missed practice this week, is inactive again.
Signed as an undrafted free agent this preseason, Sullivan appeared in three games for the Eagles this preseason. He registered eight tackles, a defensed pass and an interception. If the Eagles did not already have five other cornerbacks that are all on rookie deals, Sullivan likely would have made the roster. Instead, the birds signed him to the practice squad so that he could develop and compete again next season. Instead, he will get the chance to see some game action this season.
