Today, the Eagles added a member to their coaching staff, bringing former Jets assistant coach Brian Smith aboard. Smith will fill a new position on the Eagles staff, assistant linebackers coach.
Smith, 35, started his coaching career at the University of Massachusetts as an assistant. He spent eight seasons with the Jets and over the past two seasons with, he served as the assistant defensive backs coach.
With the Eagles, he will work alongside Bill McGovern, outside linebackers coach, and Rick Minter, inside linebackers coach.
Smith's hiring brings the Eagles assistant coaching staff up to 23.
