The Philadelphia Eagles will be without their primary running back, Ryan Mathews, for the time being due to an ankle issue.

Mathews, 28, will be in the spotlight this season with DeMarco Murray now with the Titans. Last season, the former San Diego Charger rushed for 539 yards and six touchdowns while also catching 20 passes for 146 yards and a touchdown. Behind Mathews is veteran back Darren Sproles and rookie Wendell Smallwood
Meanwhile, wideout David Watford has been added to the team, putting the roster back at 90. Watford played quarterback a Hampton University and was with the Eagles on a tryout basis during the teams' rookie minicamp.
