Eagles agree to terms with Darren Sproles

The Eagles neglected to draft a running back in the 2018 NFL Draft, but it appears that decision was all part of a bigger plan.

After the NFL Draft concluded Eagles executive vice president of football operations met with the media and announced that the team has resigned running back Darren Sproles. 

Sproles started last season as the Eagles' lead running back until he broke his arm and tore his ACL on the same play. The 34-year old diminutive scat back has been a consistent source of big plays for the Eagles since he joined the franchise prior to the 2014 season as a free agent. 

Sproles has 1,000 rushing and 1,000 receiving yards in his fours seasons in Philadlephia. Sproles is eighth in NFL history in with 19,155 all-purpose yards.

The Eagles anticipate Sproles to be fully recovered from last year's season-ending injuries by week one. 

After the departure of LeGarrette Blount in free agency the Eagles running backs currently consist of Jay Ajayi, Corey Clement, Sproles, Donnel Pumphrey, and Wendell Smallwood.
