With their Monday night loss to the Packers, the Eagles playoff hopes were essentially dashed with the rest of the NFC East continuing to pick up victories.
Five games remain in the Eagles season, and for many of the players on this team, it is about playing for jobs next season.
This week, the Eagles get a battered Cincinnati Bengals team that has disappointed this season with just a 3-7-1 record.
Here are this week's six players to watch in our Sunday Six Pack.
Nelson Agholor – Last week, Agholor was held out of the game as a healthy inactive. He'll likely return this week and all eyes will be on him to see if the mental break did any good.
Tyler Eifert – With the Bengals still without the services of A.J. Green, look for Eifert to have a bigger role this week in the Cincinnati offense. Eifert has 21 catches for 312 yards and two touchdowns.
Wendell Smallwood – One of the bright spots of last week's game was rookie running back Wendell Smallwood. Unfortunately, with the Eagles facing a deficit, they had to abandon the run and Smallwood was seldom used in the second half. But the fifth-round pick started to lay a foundation as a solid running option for the team and will look to build momentum as the season winds down.
Carlos Dunlap – Dunlap leads the Bengals with 6.5 sacks. With teams trying to take advantage of a beaten down offensive line for the Eagles to get to rookie Carson Wentz, look for Dunlap to be a focal point of the pass rush.
Jordan Hicks – Hicks has been one of the Eagles most consistent defensive players this season, but the Eagles defense as a whole struggled last week against Green Bay. If there is any player who can rebound from an overall poor week for the Eagles defense, it's Hicks.
Dre Kirkpatrick – The cornerback has three interceptions this season, leading the Bengals. Just as the focus is to get pressure on Wentz, it's also to use that pressure to force Wentz into mistake. With the Eagles general lack of explosive receivers, it can be easy for opposing corners to feast on mistakes from the quarterback. Kirkpatrick has been the best at that for Cincinnati this season, also defending seven passes, second to Dunlap who has 10.
