As mandatory mini-camp continues for the Philadelphia Eagles this week, a notable injury update was reported on Wednesday.
Eagles cornerback Sidney Jones, who is coming back from an Achilles injury suffered before last season, was ruled out of practice due to "lower-body soreness" unrelated to that previous injury.
Doug Pederson said Sidney Jones is dealing with soreness not dealing with the Achilles though. #Eagles

Philly.com's Jeff McLane reported that Jones told the media that he should be ready to practice again in training camp in late July, and that the team was "backing him off," after suffering the injury.
Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro mentioned head coach Doug Pederson's plans for injured players moving forward during training camp.
Doug Pederson on CB Sidney Jones missing practice: “We”re taking precautions. This is not the time of the year when we’re pushing people” who have some injuries. Says soreness not related to pre-2017-draft Achilles injury

Jones was a player that looked very intent on making his full-fledged return to the Eagles for the 2018 season after his Achilles injury last season. He saw playing time for the Eagles late in the regular season before being shelved for the playoffs.
His role will be a starting one once the season starts, so losing him to an injury—minor or not—is a tough pill to swallow for the time being. 'Lower body' is a very broad term for an injury, so time will tell just what exactly Jones is experiencing right now.
