The Eagles defensive line depth just took a hit.
Reports circulated on Sunday that defensive tackle Beau Allen reportedly suffered a torn pectoral muscle, which will require surgery. The news was confirmed on Monday.
Allen will be out for at least the rest of the offseason with recovery possibly taking until late September or early October, which means Allen will miss the early portion of the regular season as well.

Allen is entering his fourth NFL season. He had 29 tackles, 0.5 sacks and one fumble recovery in 2016. Allen was a seventh-round pick of the Eagles in 2014.
The Eagles were reportedly working on a contract extension for Allen, but that will likely wait until the end of next season. Allen was slated to slot in behind Fletcher Cox and Tim Jernigan this season as the third defensive tackle on the depth chart. Destiny Vaeao, Aziz Shittu and Justin Hamilton are the only other defensive tackles on the roster.
