The Eagles have yet to officially replace the three coaches that they have let go this season, but they have plans to add an additional coach.

The Eagles plan to add Matt Burke as a defensive aide, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Burke has spent time with the Bengals, Lions and Dolphins.

Most recently, Burke had served as the defensive coordinator for the Dolphins. He was let go following the firing of Miami’s head coach Adam Gase earlier this offseason. Burke had also served under Jim Schwartz when he was coach of the Lions.

He is known primarily for his work with linebackers and his ability to connect with young players. That may bode well for a team that looks set to have a cornerback room made up of players on rookie deals and a linebacker room that features young players in Kamu Grugier-Hill and Nathan Gerry. The Eagles may also move on from Brandon Graham and end up with an influx of young players on the defensive line.
