DeMeco Ryans will remain a part of the Eagles linebacker core, even after the addition of Kiko Alonso and new contracts for Brandon Graham and Connor Barwin.
Ryans and the Eagles have agreed to a restructured contract extension that keep the veteran linebacker with the team through the 2016 season.
The new deal gives Ryans a cap hit of $6.9 million in 2015, according to reports. The deal is for $7.5 million but could be worth up to $10.5 million over the two years with $6.2 million guaranteed.
Ryans will enter his fourth season with the Eagles in 2015 and will be playing in his 10th NFL season. Ryans had played in every game since signing with the Eagles until suffering a ruptured Achilles during the Eagles eighth game of the season in Houston. At the time, Ryans had 36 tackles, one fumble recovery and one interception for the season.
In three seasons with the Eagles, Ryans has 224 tackles, five sacks and four interceptions.
