With plenty of decisions to be made regarding players like Jeremy Maclin, Casey Matthews and Nate Allen, one of the more perplexing cases is that of linebacker, Brandon Graham. Drafted 13th overall by the Eagles back in 2010, Graham has slowly developed into a well-balanced linebacker. With pending free agency upon him though, whether the Eagles decide to bring him back or not is still up in the air.
According to Geoff Mosher of Comcast Sportsnet, Graham is seeking a deal in the $30 million range over the span of four years, with $20 million guaranteed. Mosher claims that the Eagles and Graham had discussions on an extension during the season, but numbers were far apart between both sides and there have been no developments since then. A contract that Graham is seeking would earn his approximately $7.5 million a season, good for third-highest paid on the defensive side of things.
Graham, 26, matched his career high in sacks this season with 5.5 and also forced four fumbles last season. If the Eagles hope to sign him, it will likely depend on how the team approaches the restructuring the contracts of McCoy, Cole and others. Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com reports that if the Eagles do not restructure those contracts, signing Graham would take up 39% of the teams' offseason spending.
Though the Eagles don't have much depth at the linebacker position, it looks like Graham will likely hit the open market. The two sides have until March 7th to try to work out a deal before free agency gets underway.
