After losing quarterbacks Nate Sudfeld to a broken wrist and Cody Kessler to a concussion, the Eagles felt they needed to make a change.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles have signed Josh McCown, who announced his retirement earlier this offseason, to a one-year deal.
Compensation update: Eagles are giving Josh McCown a one-year deal that includes $2 million fully guaranteed and could be worth up to $5.4 million, per source.

With a guarauntee of $2 million, it seems he is locked into a roster spot and Kessler and Thorson are unlikely to make the roster unless Sudfeld is placed on IR.
McCown is a well-respected veteran who will positively contribute to the locker room.
In 99 career games and 76 starts, McCown owns a completion percentage just north of 60 and has accumulated 17,707 yards with a 98-82 touchdown to interception ratio.
McCown has seven game-winning drives and has played with seven different teams.
Never before has he played with the weapons and protection he’ll have in Philly, so it will be interesting to see how he does.
