Eagles’ Jason Kelce, Fletcher Cox garner AP NFL All-Pro honors

The defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles closed the regular season with a 9-7 record and a playoff berth for the second straight year. They were also well represented when AP NFL All-Pro selections were unveiled on Friday afternoon with two selections, one on offense and defense, for the 2018 season.

Eagles center and captain Jason Kelce was an All-Pro selection for the second consecutive season. He excelled on the field like he did all last year and he was a giant contributor off the field, helping the team get over the hump, overcome a two percent chance to getting into the playoffs, and secure a spot to face the Chicago Bears this weekend.

According to Pro Football Focus, Kelce was "by far" the highest-graded center in the NFL with a grade of 84.9, beating out Falcons center Alex Mack (77.3).

Kelce only had one fumble happen on his watch this past season, against the Colts in Week 3, but besides that one setback, he was impeccable on the offensive line.

Cox solidified his All-Pro selection with a standout performance in Week 17 against the Redskins that earned him NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors. He registered four tackles and three sacks in the win over Washington, while his season totals came out to 46 tackles, 34 QB hits, 10.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a defended pass.

Halfway through the season, Pro Football Focus rated Cox as the second best defensive player in the league and he finished the year in the top five.

Cox is a three-time second-team All-Pro selection and this is his first time on the first team.

While Kelce missed out on the Pro Bowl this season despite his All-Pro honor, Cox made his fourth Pro Bowl team for his career.

Time will tell whether Cox will be named Defensive Player of the Year, but it was one successful season for the Eagles' best defensive player.
