PHILADELPHIA — Quarterback Nick Foles is returning to Philadelphia.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the 2013 NFL Pro Bowler will reunite with his former team on a two-year pact worth $11 million, $7 million of which is guaranteed.
A corresponding transaction involving Chase Daniel — the presumed backup to Carson Wentz — is speculated to follow as he has reportedly requested his release, per ESPN.
Foles, 28, was traded to the St. Louis Rams two years ago from this past Friday in exchange for quarterback Sam Bradford, a 2015 5th round pick and a conditional 2016 pick.
Under the rookie season of head coach Chip Kelly in 2013, Foles led the Eagles to the first round of the playoffs against the New Orleans Saints. He had a 27-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio that season and at the time became just the seventh quarterback in league history to throw seven touchdowns in a game.
There was rumored "mutual interest" for Foles to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, quarterback Jameis Winston and recently-signed wide receiver DeSean Jackson.
In three games and one start last season for the Kansas City Chiefs under former Eagles head coach Andy Reid, Foles completed 36 of his 55 pass attempts with three touchdowns, 410 yards and no interceptions.
