With a 10-game suspension looming for right tackle Lane Johnson, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said he was going to start to prepare to be without Johnson, assuming the suspension is upheld.
After Thursday’s win over the Buccaneers in the first preseason game for the Eagles, Pederson was asked if the team would look at anybody outside the franchise. Pederson didn’t have an answer.
However, according to a report from Tom Rock of Newsday, the Eagles have been in contact with tackle Will Beatty.
Also, Philly has reached out to Beatty as well as they await a decision on Lane Johnson appeal. No workout there yet.

Beatty is a seven-year veteran in the NFL, spending his entire career with the New York Giants. Beatty has started 63 games in his careers, including 47 of 48 over three seasons from 2012 to 2014, all at left tackle. He missed the entire 2015 season after suffering a torn pectoral muscle and a torn rotator cuff. He had shoulder surgery in November for the torn rotator cuff, suffered while he was rehabbing from the pectoral injury. He was released by the Giants following the 2015 season.
Beatty worked out with Jacksonville on Friday and the Jaguars have extended a contract offer to him.
