Early on in camp, it was revealed that Cre’Von LeBlanc had suffered an injury and that, despite originally contrary reports, he would likely miss a significant period of time with the injury.
With LeBlanc likely to miss five or six games at the minimum, it is no surprise to hear that LeBlanc is being placed on injured reserve.
LeBlanc will miss the next eight weeks of action before he is eligible to return from IR.
LeBlanc was signed mid-season in 2018 and was thrown into game action quickly for a defensive backs unit that was decimated from injury.
Despite being released by the Lions, Cre’Von stepped up and locked down the slot corner position, helping to stabilize the secondary for the Eagles playoff push.
He was very impressive and the team chose to sign him to a one-year contract extension, even through this injury.
The Eagles are now left with Rasul Douglas, Avonte Maddox, Sidney Jones and Ronald Darby, who is returning from his own injury, in the cornerback room.
With LeBlanc’s position on the 53-man roster being opened, it would not be a surprise to see the team sign one of Josh Hawkins or Orlando Scandrick back to be an additional backup at the position.
No official move has been made to fill his spot on the roster as of yet.
