The Eagles promoted cornerback De’Vante Bausby to the active roster on Saturday morning. The move was made early enough so that the team would have an additional back-up for their tilt against the Saints on Sunday.

After being on the practice squad last season, Bausby was in competition to start in the slot this season, but after a great first game, Bausby made a lot of mistakes in the final three preseason games. Still, he flashed great potential en route to making 18 tackles. The Eagles hope to have Sidney Jones available on Sunday, but if he is unable to go, Bausby provides the only additional cornerback on the roster unless the birds move Avonte Maddox back from safety full time.
Ronald Darby was placed on the injured reserve to make room. He was most likely on the roster for so long following his injury due to practice squad rules that require a complete 53-man roster to keep someone as experienced as the newly signed Will Tye on the squad.
