Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz gets engaged
By Brandon Apter, Sports Talk Philly editor
If you listened once to any of Nick Foles' press conferences since taking over as quarterback following the injury to Carson Wentz, you know that his family has played such a large part in his journey. Foles and his wife brought their first child into the world this year and you can tell that she's Nick's pride and joy.
While Carson Wentz sure as hell would have preferred to have played on Sunday, he'll get a Super Bowl ring anyway for leading the Eagles to an 11-2 record before getting hurt. There's no doubting that Wentz has had a big support system since getting injured, and even before, from his family and his girlfriend.
To make things even sweeter for Wentz after the Super Bowl victory, he decided to give the love of his life a ring…not of the championship variety though. Wentz took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon to announce that he and his long-time girlfriend Madison Oberg were engaged.
She said YES! And now Maddie and I both got us a ring 💍😎 can’t wait to marry my best friend! God is doing some amazing things and I can’t thank him enough! pic.twitter.com/OPr0kilabh
