The Eagles waived three players from their roster to make room on the 90-man roster on Wednesday.
The move is one that had to be coming, but the players they waived are honestly a bit of a shock.
The team moved on from cornerback Chandon Sullivan, guard Kaleb Johnson and linebacker Asantay Brown. All three were members of the 2018 practice squad and one spent time on the Eagle 53-man roster in 2018.

Corner Chandon Sullivan was called up to the active roster following the slew of injuries in the secondary. He was behind De’Vante Bausby on the depth chart and, as such, saw less snaps than Bausby. He did show quite a few flashes in the last preseason game, but was not able to make those big plays in the snaps he saw during the regular season. He was sent back to the practice squad in favor of Josh Hawkins.
It comes as a shock that the team allowed him to walk and it would be even more shocking if he isn’t with another team in a couple of days.
Linebacker Asantay Brown was a really under the radar player during the 2018 preseason. He did not make any big plays during the preseason games and was not discussed a whole lot, but the Eagles did need linebacker depth. In college, Brown earned All-MAC honors three times and lead the Western Michigan Broncos in tackles in 2015 and 2017.
Guard Kaleb Johnson was an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers in 2015. He has yet to play in a NFL game, but had spent time with the Ravens, Browns, Cardinals, Bears, Chiefs and Vikings. Now he can add the Eagles to that resume.
