The Philadelphia Eagles have decided to release wide receiver Josh Huff after the 25-year-old was arrested earlier in the week on multiple charges. Howie Roseman will address the media at approximately 12:30 p.m.

Huff was arrested on the Walt Whitman Bridge after getting pulled over for speeding on Tuesday while in possession of marijuana and a gun. The police report revealed that the firearm was loaded with hollow point bullets, which Huff can be charged for individually.
During Doug Pederson's press conference on Wednesday, he said that Huff was expected to dress for this Sunday's NFC East tilt against the Giants, but Huff spoke to reporters at his locker after practice and made some questionable comments that didn't help his cause.
"I'm a professional athlete. What professional athlete don't have a gun?" Huff told reporters on Wednesday. "I have a wife and I have a son at home, and my job is to protect them at all costs. My job is to protect myself as well." [Philly.com]
When asked if he ever brought the gun inside the Novacare complex, he referred to a former NBA guard.
"I'm not Gilbert Arenas, bro," Huff said, referring to the former Washington Wizards player who once brandished a gun in the locker room. "I'm not going to bring a gun on the premises. I'm not going to bring a gun and put my teammates in jeopardy or anything. That's not me. It's solely for protection." [Philly.com]
The Eagles have been hurting at the wide receiver position and this issue takes away an aspect of their offense as Huff was used in a handful of different ways in addition to receiving. He was also a big part of the special teams unit on kickoffs this season, returning a kick 98 yards for a touchdown during the Eagles win over the Vikings two weeks ago.
With Huff now out of the picture, we could see Bryce Treggs make his Eagles debut this week.
