Less than 24 hours after signing linebacker Stephen Tulloch and releasing four other players, another of the Eagles 85 players has become a casualty.
The Eagles announced the release of linebacker Deontae Skinner on Monday.
Skinner recorded three tackles and a QB hit in the preseason opener against the Buccaneers, but had just one tackle in last Thursday's game against the Steelers.
The Eagles signed Skinner as a free agent in August 2015 and he spent the 2015 season on the team's practice squad. Prior to that, Skinner was an undrafted free agent signed by the New England Patriots, where he spent time on and off the practice squad throughout two seasons.
Skinner played a total of seven NFL games with the Patriots in 2014, including getting one start. He recorded six tackles and one sack in that time.
The move brings the Eagles roster back to 84 players. They need to reduce that number to 75 by next Tuesday, Aug. 30.
