One day after holding wide receiver Miles Austin out of the lineup for the first time this season, the Eagles made a decision on the veteran receiver.
The team released Austin on Monday.
Austin had 13 catches for 224 yards and one touchdown in 11 games. The 31-year-old receiver was playing for his third team in three years after playing the 2013 season in Dallas and the 2014 season in Cleveland.
This cut leaves the Eagles with six receivers on the roster — Jordan Matthews, Nelson Agholor, Riley Cooper, Josh Huff, Seyi Ajirotutu and Jonathan Krause. The team also has Freddie Martino available on the practice squad.
The Eagles prepare for a Week 14 meeting with the Buffalo Bills on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Lincoln Financial Field.
