The Eagles suffered a brutal loss in Dallas this Sunday.

Certainly moves were coming, and the Eagles made the first few Monday night.

The Eagles have released veteran CB Orlando Scandrick and DT Akeem Spence and have signed Anthony Rush from the Raider’s practice squad.

Rush is an undrafted rookie out of UAB who was with the Eagles in preseason until he was waived to make room for Orlando Scandrick.

He has spent the season since then with the Oakland Raiders on their practice squad.

Scandrick being cut is not a surprise, but the veteran had two sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery for a touchdown in his first game.

His next two games have been forgettable as Scandrick has lost coverage and made just three tackles since his stunning debut.

For his roster spot, the Eagles may be looking at getting Cre’Von LeBlanc back as he is able to begin practicing and return following week eight. In the meantime, the Eagles will look for other options for the open spot.

Akeem Spence is a surprising cut as he is the only healthy DT on the roster.

Spence had just six tackles in his snaps this season, but with just Fletcher Cox and Hassan Ridgeway, both of whom left the game in Dallas with injury, it is surprising to see the Eagles turn to an undrafted free agent that hasn’t been with the team for months.

His release could be a sign that the team expects Tim Jernigan back soon and expects to give limited snaps to him to see what he can do.

Brandon Graham and Vinny Curry can also rotate inside should Jernigan not be ready to assist and the Eagles not want to play Rush in a significant amount of snaps.
