The Eagles spent the offseason making four additions at the wide receiver position — signed two free agents and drafting two rookies. Even with a crowded group already, the Eagles could be looking into a reunion.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles are among the teams interested in wide receiver Jeremy Maclin.
Trending: No, the Eagles Don't Need Jeremy Maclin
Maclin is visiting with the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday and the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday, but the Eagles and Cleveland Browns have also shown interest. The interest in Maclin certainly makes sense for the Eagles, who are familiar with the veteran receiver from his first years in the league.
However, the timing is another thing. Injuries slowed Maclin down last season, and given the Eagles offseason haul at the receiver position, there isn't much money left for the Eagles to do much of anything, let alone add to the populated group.
Of course, despite those reasons, there are ties to Maclin's past in Philadelphia that certainly explain the team's interest. Doug Pederson was an assistant during Maclin's first five NFL seasons in Philadelphia. When Maclin went to Kansas City, Pederson was the Chiefs offensive coordinator for his first season there.
Maclin has 474 catches for 6,395 yards and 46 touchdowns in 102 games.
