The Eagles have to get the roster down to 75 by 4 p.m. on Tuesday. At the conclusion of Saturday's 33-23 win over the Colts, the Eagles roster was at 83.
The Eagles have apparently started work on cutting the roster down by releasing of wide receiver Chris Givens, according to a report from Rand Getlin of NFL Network.
I'm told WR Chris Givens has been released by the #Eagles.

Givens was listed among the starters for Saturday's game, but had just one catch for 19 yards on his only target of the game. Givens was targeted just once in the preseason opener and seldom used in the Eagles Week 2 game in Pittsburgh.
Givens was signed by the Eagles in March and had previous ties to quarterback Sam Bradford as teammates with the Rams. 60 of Givens 107 career catches had come on passes by Bradford.
With the roster down to 82 and another wide receiver off the list, this bodes well for both Josh Huff and Paul Turner. Huff had yet to have a standout showing until his game in Indianapolis, where he caught two passes for 60 yards and had a nine-yard rushing touchdown. Turner had turned heads all through camp and the preseason. If Turner can be serviceable in the special teams game, he may have very well earned a spot as well.
The release marks the disappointing end to Givens training camp. The Eagles signed both Givens and Rueben Randle to serve as a veteran presence and potentially bring some explosiveness and playmaking ability to the offseason. With Givens gone and Randle's prospects of making the team not looking much better, the Eagles may have struck out on their offseason free-agency moves at the receiver position.
