As the opening night of the NFL Draft draws closer, more about the Eagles potential interests will be leaked out and only increase speculation.
Here are just a few of the rumors floating around.
The Eagles recently met with Alabama linebacker Reuben Foster, according to Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com. Foster is projected to go in the first round.
The Eagles have defensive needs at, realistically, almost every position, so they really can't go wrong with taking any potential game-changing player on the defensive side of the ball. While most would like to see the Eagles immediately target the biggest need at cornerback, this is a cornerback rich draft, so the Eagles could be trying to take another position of need or the best player available in Round 1.
Another position of need for the Eagles is running back, and there is an interesting one drawing attention. It's no secret that Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon brings a reputation — and not a very good one — to the table. But he does also have skill, and that could be enough to sway a team into taking the risk of drafting him. Mixon is still on the Eagles draft board as draft week hits, according to another report from NJ.com.
In some cases, these rumors stem from the draft hopefuls themselves and not the 32 teams set to make the picks come Thursday. Wide receiver Corey Davis, one of three potential first-round hopefuls at the receiver position, posted a retweet reading "Future Eagle," in response to ESPN's Trey Wingo, who had Davis on as a guest on ESPN on Monday.
That really doesn't mean much, but when you think about how a first-round receiver would have an instant impact on the Eagles offense, it wouldn't be a surprising pick from the Eagles standpoint.
