Monday night was a big night for Eagles running back Darren Sproles. With 152 recieving yards, 26 rushing yards, and one touchdown, Sproles provided some of the big play pop that many fans feared they were losing when the Eagles cut wide receiver De Sean Jackson. Today, the Eagles new running back receieved his first honor as an Eagle.
According to many sources, including this one from CSN Philly's John Gonzalez, Sproles has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for week two. In Gonzalez's piece, fellow running back LeSean McCoy reflected upon Sproles' role after Monday's big win in Indianapolis:
“To be honest, he’s helping me out," McCoy said. “Without Sproles, we’d be in some trouble. I need to get my thing together. I feel like I'm not playing to my level where I should be playing.”
