The NFL Draft continues on Friday with the second and third rounds taking place. The Eagles were back on the clock early on Friday with the 11th pick of the night and 43rd overall pick.
With the 43rd pick, the Eagles selected cornerback Sidney Jones of Washington.
Jones played in 14 games in his junior season, making 39 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and getting two interceptions with six passes defended. In his career, Jones played in 40 games, with 145 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, one sack and eight interceptions.
Jones did suffer a ruptured Achilles on Washington's pro day, putting his NFL debut date in question. Doctors have expected that Jones will be able to return by September. At one time, Jones was projected as a Top-15 talent in the Draft before the injury.
The Eagles will be back on the clock with the 99th overall pick in the third round later on Friday night.
