Eagles sign 9-year veteran WR Mike Wallace
By: Jesse Larch, Sports Talk Philly editor
The Eagles continue to fill holes on the roster through free agency, this time by adding former Steelers and Ravens wide receiver Mike Wallace. Peter Schrager of NFL Network first broke the news:
The Eagles have agreed to a 1 year deal with WR Mike Wallace, per source. @nflnetwork @gmfb

Wallace has been in the NFL for 9 seasons and the former third-round pick has only missed one game. Wallace has amassed 1,000 receiving yards in a season three times. He most recently accomplished this feat in 2016-17 with the Baltimore Ravens. He was selected to his lone Pro Bowl appearance in 2011 as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Last season in Baltimore Wallace had 58 catches for 748 yards and four touchdowns. Wallace presumably fills the whole left by Torrey Smith, with Wallace possessing a similar skill set in terms of being a deep threat.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that the deal is cheap, and will keep the Eagles under the salary cap for now:
For the #Eagles and FA WR Mike Wallace, it’s a 1-year deal worth $2.5M with incentives, source said. Slides neatly under the salary cap.
