With the Eagles getting news that veteran defensive tackle Malik Jackson is expected to miss the rest of the 2019 season, it is no surprise that they made a move.
The Eagles have decided to add veteran DT Akeem Spence, who recently played for the Dolphins, to give the roster depth.

While Jernigan will remain the starter, having a player who started 16 games and recorded 42 tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery as a rotational player.
The Eagles placed Jackson on IR to open a spot on the 53-man roster to create room for Spence.
#Eagles have waived TE Alex Ellis and placed DT Malik Jackson on Injured Reserve.

The team also waived Alex Ellis, clearing another spot.
Ellis’ spot on the practice squad was never filled, so he could return to that spot should he clear waivers.
The Eagles will likely seek out secondary help and both Orlando Scandrick and Josh Hawkins, who spent camp with the Eagles and know the scheme, are available free agents.
